Stephanie Foote
University of Denver Sturm College of Law

Stephanie Foote is a second year student at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. Her main academic area of focus is international law, and she hopes to practice in this field in the future. Stephanie is currently the Vice President of the University of Denver’s ILS chapter. She graduated from the University of San Diego (USD) in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a minor in psychology. After graduating from USD, she worked for two years as a trial paralegal for a local litigation firm in Denver.

Stephanie first realized her passion for international law when studying abroad during my undergraduate education at USD. She studied in Madrid, Spain for a semester taking classes in Spanish, world religions, and ethics. While studying in Spain for six months, she was able to travel all over Western Europe. The following summer, Stephanie traveled to various countries throughout Southeast Asia. While traveling, she took multiple classes in the area of international business. During both abroad experiences, Stephanie was exposed to new cultures, politics and lifestyles. This exposure sparked her interest in international studies, especially in the area of law.

Stephanie believes being Vice President of ILSA will present her with a perfect opportunity to feel part of the international law community even without being abroad. Through the program, she hopes to continue to expand my worldly knowledge and begin to pursue a career in the international legal field. As a representative, Stephanie promises to promote communication between all of the chapters and encourage members to be actively involved. ILSA presents a unique opportunity for individuals and groups across the world to come together to learn and grow from one another. Improved interaction between the chapters will help to support increased legal education and understanding. Says Stephanie: “I am lucky to have experienced many countries and cultures, and I look forward to encouraging others to open up their minds to the international community as well and be actively involved in ILSA.”
