Jessup 2011 - Competition Registration
1. All Jessup teams must register with the ILSA Executive Office by completing the online Jessup registration form at the bottom of this page.
- The deadline for U.S. teams to register is 5 November
- The deadline for all other teams to register is 15 November
2. You may register some or all of your team members at the same time that you register your team, or you may log back in to your Team Page to register your team members later.
- The deadline for all teams to register all individual team members is 15 November.
3. You may pay the registration fee at the end of the online registration process, or you may submit payment at a later date.
- To receive the early registration discount your payment must be received by ILSA by 1 September.
- All U.S. team payments must be received by ILSA by 5 November.
- All other team payments must be received by ILSA by 15 November.

4. After ILSA receives and processes your payment, ILSA will send you a receipt by email that will contain you official Team Number, which your team will use to identify itself throughout the competition.
5. Once you have registered your team, you will receive an email confirming registration that will contain your username and password. You should save this information and communicate it to all team members so that the team can log in to its Team Page to do the following:
- Register additional team members
- Register additional team advisors
- Update general registration information
- Request visa and fundraising support letters
- Request research passwords for LexisNexis, Westlaw, and HeinOnline
- Request special permission for certain team members to compete
- Request to substitute a team member
6. If a national or regional competition will be held in your country, the administrator of your national or regional competition may contact you later to separately register for that competition.
Please check the 2011 National Rounds Schedule at http://www.ilsa.org/jessup/national/na-schedule.pdf to see if a National or Regional competition will be held in your country. For some countries, we must wait until registration has closed (15 November) to determine whether multiple teams from your country have registered and a national competition will therefore be held. To see whether a national competition is usually held in your country, please refer to last year’s National Rounds Schedule at http://www.ilsa.org/jessup/national.php. All teams should check the 2011 National Rounds Schedule frequently throughout the fall and winter for national and regional competition updates.

- 8 November 2010 - Deadline for Schedule II and III (all non-U.S.) teams to request special permission for a team member described by Jessup Official Rule 2.2.2 to compete
- 15 November 2010 - Deadline for Schedule II and III (all non-U.S.) teams to register for the Competition
- 15 November 2010 - Deadline for ALL teams to register all individual team members
Registration Fee. Your team's registration fee is determined according to the following country schedules and discounts:
Schedule I: United States
- Regular Registration Fee: $925
- Fee with early registration* discount only: $875
- Fee with ILSA Chapter** discount only: $700
- Fee with both early registration and ILSA Chapter discounts: $650
Schedule II: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bermuda, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom
- Regular Registration Fee: $450
- Fee with early registration* discount only: $410
- Fee with ILSA Chapter** discount only: $390
- Fee with both early registration and ILSA Chapter discounts: $350
Schedule III: All other countries and territories.
- Regular Registration Fee: $175
- Fee with early registration* discount only: $145
- Fee with ILSA Chapter** discount only: $145
- Fee with both early registration and ILSA Chapter discounts: $115
*Early registration discount. Teams that complete the online registration form and submit payment of the registration fee so that it is received by ILSA by 1 September 2010 are entitled to the early registration discount.
**ILSA Chapter discount. An ILSA Chapter is a student group, such as an International Law Society, that is dedicated to ILSA’s mission of promoting the study and understanding of international law. Schools with an ILSA Chapter that have already registered or that will register with ILSA later this fall are entitled to the Chapter discount. For more information about registering an ILSA Chapter and Chapter membership benefits, please visit http://www.ilsa.org/members/chapters.php. If you do not know whether your school has a registered ILSA Chapter, please inquire to ilsa@ilsa.org.
Registration Fee Waivers. Schools competing in the Jessup Competition for the first time that are unable to pay the Jessup registration fee may apply for a reduction or waiver of the registration fee. Reductions and waivers are only granted to teams that have already attempted to secure funds from their school AND from outside donors and have been unsuccessful. Teams that have not tried to fundraise will not be granted a waiver. Teams must formally apply for a waiver by submitting the 2011 Waiver Application Form by 8 November to jessup@ilsa.org or by fax to +1 (312) 362-5073.
Late Registration and Late Payment Fees. ILSA will decide on a case-by-case basis whether to accept late registrations and late payments. If a team’s late registration or late payment is accepted, the team must pay the following late fee in addition to the regular registration fee:
- $90.00 – Schedule I
- $60.00 – Schedule II
- $30.00 – Schedule III
At the end of the online registration process, you will be given three options for paying the registration fee. If you have already registered but did not pay the registration fee at that time, you may use the links below to pay the registration fee now.
Pay Registration Fee by Credit Card via PayPal
To pay the registration fee by PayPal, you will need to log back in to the registration system using the username and password created during registration (check your registration confirmation email for this information). You do not need a PayPal account to use PayPal. If you do not have an account, scroll down on the PayPal page to “Don’t have a PayPal account?”, and click “continue”. PayPal accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover credit cards.
Pay Registration Fee by Completing an Invoice for Check, Money Order, or Credit Card Payment
Click on the link above for a payment invoice. Send your completed invoice along with a check or money order by regular mail to ILSA, or input your credit card details and mail, email, or fax the invoice to ILSA. ILSA accepts Visa, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards.
