2011 Philip C. Jessup
International Law Moot Court Competition
Volunteer Judge Application Form

Please complete this application form to volunteer as a memorials and/or oral rounds judge for the Jessup Competition. This form will allow you to volunteer for National Rounds if you have not done so already, as well as the White & Case International Rounds, which will take place 20-26 March 2011 in Washington, D.C.

When filling out the form below, please complete all relevant fields. It is essential that you provide an email address so that we can communicate with you.

  • If you use this form to volunteer to judge National Round(s), we will forward your email to the relevant National competition administrator(s), who will be in touch to schedule your rounds if there are spaces available to judge. If you already contacted the relevant national administrator(s) directly, you do not need to indicate your availability for those National Rounds on this form.
  • If you volunteer to serve as a memorials judge for the International Rounds or for National Rounds for which ILSA administers memorials judging, memorials will be sent to you for grading by email beginning Friday, 28 January and thereafter as winners of National Rounds are determined. International Rounds memorial scores will be due Monday, 28 February. National Rounds memorial scores will be due at various times depending on the date of the relevant National competition.
  • If you are volunteering to serve as an oral rounds judge for the White & Case International Rounds, we will start to confirm schedules in early February by email. If your availability changes, please resubmit a new form online, which will replace the already existing form.

Thank you for volunteering to judge! We greatly appreciate your support of the Jessup Competition.

JUDGING WHITE & CASE INTERNATIONAL ROUNDS
The 2011 White & Case International Rounds will be held 20-26 March at the Capital Hilton in Washington, D.C. For more information, including a schedule of events and hotel rates and reservations, please see the International Rounds Page.

Preliminary International Rounds - Oral Rounds
More than 100 teams will compete in this year's Preliminary Rounds. This is when our need for judges is the greatest. It is also one of the most exciting times to be in the judges room. Because we expect a large number of judge volunteers, scheduling will be subject to availability of rounds, and volunteers will be pre-scheduled for no more than 8 preliminary rounds. However, please note that judges will have an opportunity to add more rounds to their schedules by volunteering to serve as a back-up judge during the competition. We frequently use back-ups because of last-minute cancellations and conflicts. Please check all times you will be available.
