Brittany Shales is a 3L at the University of Calgary and is spending her fall semester as an exchange student at the University of Trento in Italy. She also holds a Master of Arts in International Relations and BA (Honours) in Political Studies from Queen's University. After attending several International Law Weekends and the 2019 Jessup International Rounds, Brittany is thrilled to be serving a second term as an ILSA Student Director for the 2019-2020 year. At the University of Calgary Brittany is the Founder and President of the International Law Society and serves as an Editor for the Alberta Law Review. Brittany split her 1L summer studying at Hebrew University in Jerusalem and working for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in Bangkok. In addition to serving as an ILSA Student Director, in her 2L year Brittany was a Project Lead for the Pro Bono Students Canada Human Rights Project, spending part of her summer studying at the London School of Economics and also working as a Summer Associate at Baker & McKenzie LLP's Canada office.
