Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition

The 2018-2019 season marks the 60th year of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. Jessup is the world's largest moot court competition, with participants from over 680 law schools in 100 countries and jurisdictions. The Competition is a simulation of a fictional dispute between countries before the International Court of Justice, the judicial organ of the United Nations. One team is allowed to participate from every eligible school. Teams prepare oral and written pleadings arguing both the applicant and respondent positions of the case.

Dates & Schedules

The Jessup season officially begins in September and ends in April after the completion of the White & Case International Rounds. The Qualifying Rounds, internationally and in the US, take place between January and March. The 2019 International Rounds take place between 31 March – 6 April 2019 and will conclude with the Jessup Cup World Championship Round.
