Michael Peil Joins ILSA as Executive Director

We are excited to announce that Michael Peil has been appointed to serve as Executive Director of the International Law Students Association (ILSA). Michael comes to ILSA from Bhutan, where he and his family lived since 2013. He served as the Founding Vice Dean of the Jigme Singye Wangchuck School of Law, the first and only law school in Bhutan, since 2016. Michael is no doubt a familiar face to anyone who has been involved in the Jessup over the years. He first became involved with ILSA and the Jessup while a law student at Cornell Law School, and has become a regular fixture in the decades since, fulfilling virtually every role imaginable, including administrator, judge, problem author, and even a previous stint as ILSA Executive Director from 2001-2006. Michael replaces Lesley Benn, who served as Executive Director from 2012 until stepping down earlier this year, and Tessa Walker, who served as Interim Executive Director. The entire ILSA and Jessup community welcomes Michael back to the ILSA Executive Office.
