Jessup 2023 White & Case International Rounds Frequently Asked Questions

  1. Will there be an online option for teams that cannot attend the White & Case International Rounds in-person?

No. The White & Case International Rounds will be an in-person event in 2023, without virtual options. After a careful discussion of all available options, ILSA determined that the quality and standards of the International Rounds could not be guaranteed with a hybrid competition.

  2. What if my team cannot afford to travel to DC?

Teams should prepare in advance for the increased cost of travel in 2023. We encourage all Teams to speak with their school about a travel budget and to reach out to potential sponsors to help cover the cost of airfare, accommodations, food, and related expenses. If, after exhausting all other options, your team cannot afford the full cost of attending the White & Case International Rounds, please contact [email protected]. We are working very hard to raise money for direct Team support, but we anticipate that we will have a limited budget to assist with travel expenses.

  3. What if my team qualifies for the White & Case International Rounds, but cannot attend?

Teams that cannot travel to Washington, DC for the White & Case International Rounds will not be able to participate in the White & Case International Rounds. The 2023 White & Case International Rounds will not have a virtual component. All Teams must appear in person.

If your team anticipates difficulties attending the International Rounds, please contact [email protected].

  4. What are the COVID testing and vaccine requirements for non-US citizens entering the United States?

As of June 12, 2022, the United States no longer requires a negative COVID test. The United States does require that all visitors prove that they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. We will continue to closely monitor these and other travel regulations, and apprise the Teams as circumstances change.

  5. Can ILSA help our Team get U.S. visas?

Teams that require a visa to enter the United States are strongly encouraged to begin the process as soon as they qualify for the White & Case International Rounds. Teams may request a visa invitation letter from the ILSA Executive Office by emailing [email protected]. If your team anticipates having extraordinary problems obtaining a visa, let our office know as soon as possible. For more information about obtaining a visa, please contact your local embassy or consulate.
