The European Law Students Association believes that the environment and climate change are some of the most important issues of the 21st century. The world is changing rapidly, industries are developing like never before and new technologies arise daily, we must help the law system keep up with those changes. The way we as human beings function strongly impacts natural habitats resulting in scarce natural resources and natural disasters.
That is why ELSA believes it is incredibly important to discuss the environmental changes, issues regarding the climate, and the impact of law on those aspects to raise awareness on how significant changes can be made. ELSA believes that every individual can influence the policy- and law-makers when it comes to climate-related regulations. It is demonstrated not only by the efforts of the European Commission in this regard but also by the visible changes in legislation around Europe.
Taking all of the above into consideration ELSA would like to organize an International Conference on Climate Law. ELSA believes that this topic is up to date as protection of the environment and climate is one of the United Nations’ most important goals.
The conference will address the following topics:
🔹Major waste management issues in the world
🔹Renewable energy sources, opportunities, and threats
🔹Legal aspects of deforestation
